According to the draft resolution of admission conditions for 2011, which has been proposed for discussion by the Ministry of Education, the admissions campaign 2011 will be based on the rating score consisting of the total score of External Testing Certificates, the grade point average of secondary school transcripts, the score for high achievement in education as well as university preparatory course score.

Just like this year, the draft resolution of admission conditions takes into account the scores of three External Testing Certificates (the maximum score is 600) and the grade point average of the secondary school transcript (the maximum score is 200).

In addition, the draft resolution stipulates that an additional score will be awarded to prospective students who made extraordinary achievements in their main subjects (prize-winners of All-Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions of the Junior Academy of Sciences). For example, 1st category diploma recipients are to be awarded the additional score of 50, 2nd category diploma recipients will get the score of 40, and 3rd category diploma recipients will receive the score of 30 (this year prize-winners of All-Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions of the Junior Academy of Sciences were admitted to universities according to separate rating lists).

Also, according to the draft resolution, the additional score of 20 is to be awarded to those who completed the university preparatory course in the same year as they are attempting to enter that university, as well as to those who intend to study natural sciences, mathematics, engineering and pedagogy-related subjects. The draft resolution also features a supplemented list of prospective students eligible for first-priority admission.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Education is planning to fix 140 as the minimal score in majors on the External Testing Certificate required for admission to university. The minimal score for minors will remain 124.

Another innovation is introduction of a fixed list of competition subjects for Bachelor and Junior Specialist programmes (this year, the list of competition subjects was fixed by institutions of higher education themselves).
