In honour of the State Flag Day and the Independence Day of Ukraine a Ukrainian “vyshyvanka” shirt (a Ukrainian traditional embroidered shirt) was put on Duc de Richelieu’s Monument in Odessa and part of Potyomkinska Stairs was covered with the Ukrainian flag. In addition, on 24 August people dressed in vyshyvankas (see above) lined up on Potyomkinska Stairs.
